RUPERT CAMPBELL-BLACK IS COMING TO TOWN (SORT OF)

Grab your picnic rugs and a bottle of Bolly – Rupert Campbell-Black and his clan are coming to town! Well, sort of...

It's safe to say when it comes to summer and sport I'm in my happy place – I've spent almost every birthday courtside at Queen's watching/working/both and my first Condé Nast Christmas bonus went towards joining the Lord's waiting list (yup, cricket fan right here).

And I'm not immune to the appeal of other sporting days the British summer has to offer. As soon as there is the faintest glimmer of sunshine I go into excessive planning mode… So here’s a date I invite you to add to your diary too – Friday 9th June through to Sunday 11th June, Chestertons Polo in the Park takes place at Fulham's Hurlingham Park.

Translation: mallet-wielding, horse-riding hunks, a la Jilly Cooper, are coming to a playing field near you...

Enter Paper London's Vivienne wide-legged silhouette. On a side note I can't get enough of this British brand's spring/summer collection and have the majority of it added to my fantasy shopping basket. A total dream to wear, it reminded me of the quality of tailoring you get when you pay that bit more. And for some reason the minute I laid eyes on it I wanted to add yellow. And rose gold followed...

Then there's the enduring appeal of a white lace dress.

Teamed with the straw accents we're all craving this summer (I was introduced to bag label Mehry Mu at a recent press breakfast at Bluebird and fell hard and fast) and what I am now calling my Pie Shoes, it feels like the floodgates to summer have officially opened...

Of course if the British weather gods have other ideas as they so often do it's back to the drawing board...
