Don't you love it when you can count the items of clothes you're wearing on a single hand? In the winter that's usually only covered my thermal situation (love a good Uniqlo Heat Tech vest). But when not much more than a T-shirt and shorts is required on those lengthy, summer, poolside days, flouncy cotton, cheese-cloth and especially crochet truly come into their own.

Forever a fan of classic-with-a-twist, working in a feminine crochet detail is all it takes for a thrown together look to offer that little bit more. Needless to say I'm currently stockpiling many a crochet-embellished sundress, playsuit and bikini in Asos, Madewell and Net-a-Porter's virtual baskets for our honeymoon. I'm also a sucker for little white shorts AND broderie anglaise, so when I happened upon this sweet Joseph pair I was sold.

Nothing beats summer/holiday dressing. Now we just need a little sunshine please England...
