IT'S HIP TO BE FLARED (LONDON FASHION WEEK)

Fashion week called for flares. With seventies influences splayed across designers’ mood boards worldwide, carving out new season trends, it only seemed fitting to pull out the MiH Marrakech moleskins – sample sale gold from a few years back. Not only are they beautifully tailored, they're obscenely comfortable and don't pinch or bite anywhere like so many skin-skimming trousers.

With an additional nod to the military trend – a gold-buttoned khaki coat – teamed with a baggy chambray shirt I picked up in a Brooklyn flea market last month and topped off with a burgundy hat, (Olly’s) scarf and stacks of mix-metal jewellery, off I skipped for more wobbling in wedges over the cobbled stones at Somerset House.
