They say you never regret the big investments, and my Dubarry boots were in exchange for a long gruelling day's work on the Dubarry stand at the Game Fair at Badminton, which was probably only about 20% of what they actually sold for. But six or so years on, I'm still so appreciative of them every time I set foot into our chilly porch before a dog walk. Investment One.
Investment Two is my Michael Kors very warm, virtually weightless jacket. Actually intended as a running jacket (though its use would be very limited if it was reserved solely for this) its sporty cut, super light fluffy padding and duvet-esque comfort makes it a go-to staple.
And the hit was well worth it. Even if it did mean eating pasta and not going out for a few weeks.
