AN OLD FRIEND REVIVED

Deep in the back of my cupboard at Home Home (Sussex, not Brixton), a very

lovely, though slightly damaged piece of clothing has been gathering dust. Three years

ago I struck gold at a Vogue House sample sale when the Alice Temperley team

came to visit. The gold I'm referring to was a sleek, black velvet, quilted gilet

I managed to get my mitts on amidst the girly frenzy that descended upon our

boardroom that day. And I'm so happy to see it again. Aforementioned damage

has been easily remedied with a wave of my mother's magic wand

(translates: needle and thread). It fits like a glove, is going to be a very welcome

extra layer for the winter months ahead and will to be one of the first things to make it

into my suitcase for a stint in New York I have lined up in the not too distant future...
