WEDDING PLAY

With so many unofficial boxes to tick, finding a wedding outfit is no easy task. Nothing white, nothing ostentatious, an appropriate length… all without entering frumpy mumsy territory. And the accessories. Shoes you can walk – and cut serious shapes – in for nine hours, a clutch, a hat?

I’m a big believer in comfortable fashion – if I know something’s a bit tight, digs in somewhere or gives me blisters, it tends to be firmly relegated to the back of my wardrobe. I stumbled upon this playsuit in a sample sale and realised it ticked all those tricky boxes and is as comfortable as wearing a baby grow (I imagine). It’s made from thick double-layered material, making it smart enough, plus the fact that it’s shorts rather than a dress means you can go that bit shorter without worrying about any unintentional flashing when you’re a few glasses of champagne down.

The only downside is the loo situation tends to be a little slower… and colder.
