    I HEART PAUL EDMONDS

    October 30, 2017

Before seeing one of my favourite people tie the knot in a stunning Mount Street service last weekend – take a look at The Church of the Immaculate Conception if you find yourself in Mayfair, it would sit in happy company with the beauties in Rome – I had the pleasure of enjoying a morning with Paul Edmonds himself at his Knightsbridge salon.

Putting aside the obvious of it being a total honour to have my hair done with Paul given his mane-touselling pedigree, you know that feeling when you click with someone? Maybe he has the ability to make everyone feel this way. But he's 100% my kind of person; softly spoken, and not one to shout about his success – though I did prise information out of him about his most recent Oscars and Vanity Fair party. Let's just say Alicia Vikander, Sam Smith and Biebs all came up.

The double-storey swoon-worthy salon is decked out with navy panelled walls, mismatch apohlstered chairs (each of which I'm told have their own character – look out for the two little old ladies at the bottom of the stairs) with cushions using the same material as the London Underground (somehow much chicer in this context). Crystals sit on shelves stacked with the high-end beauty product selection of Skinceuticals, Endocare and Heliocare (the latter of which is lauded by Paul as the best suncare range on market). And then Paul and I kicked back for a chat in the beauty station, an area I would love to book out with a couple of friends for an afternoon.

But let's get down to the hairy business of it. I was there to try the Shu Uemura Art of Hair blowdry using the Urban Moisture range. The treatment is aimed to nourish hair persistently exposed to pollution via rare ingredient ingredients like Moringa Extract, which is rich in anti-oxidants and minerals. Post wash Paul used Shu Heat Protection and Hold, Shu Sheer Lacquer and used large barrel tongs for the required tousled effect – et voila!
