Submerging ourselves in a fantasyland of boxsets and books in January is more than acceptable. In fact, after hunkering down for the first proper downtime in ages during the Chrimbo limbo (between Christmas and New Year that is) and becoming a newfound Grey's Anatomy addict (slow to the party but at least I'm here now), I'd go as far as saying I'd encourage it. Truly switching off and taking my brain to a completely different sphere has been the ultimate escapism and made me feel so much better – and is much cheaper than a holiday.
It's ok to be tired at this time of year so, instead of feeling guilty about hibernating, I'm going to really enjoy it. Surrendering to the Christmas slumber and hygge-ing the hell out of January is high on the agenda.
