A FEW OF MY FAVOURITE THINGS – A SNEAK PEEK AT MY WEEKEND PACKING
December 5, 2014
For a weekend in Yorkshire, packing went a little something like this.
Headphones | Panasonic
The sound quality in these is awesome, they're so good at blocking everything else out.
Book | Dear Lumpy, Letters to a Disobedient Daughter
The follow-up to Dear Lupin, which I read last year and found hilarious. Both books consist of a series of letters sent to son and, in this case, daughter, from their despairing father throughout their struggles at school and later in life. Let's just say he has a very dry wit.
Beanie | Scotch & Soda
Because Yorkshire was even more bitter than London.
Black Leather Bracelet | Whistles
Easy to wear in the day and for suppers in the evening.
Concealer | Laura Mercier
One of my essential make-up items.
Mascara | Calvin Klein
Another essential, though it's coming to an end (sob).
Hair Oil | U Luxury
I happened to know there was an extremely nice bathroom where we were staying – complete with enormous fluffy white towels – that I had long luxurious baths in, so a bit of post bath pampering is always nice. Plus, winter and central heating are no doubt drying out my hair.
Body Moisturiser | Laura Mercier
I flit between lots of different body mositurisers, but this one I picked up in a sample sale at Vogue House is amazing.
Star Foundation | Dior
I'd never really worn foundation before, but this one is very light and easy, and has been a real go-to essential over the winter months.
Hand Cream | Clarins
I was given this for Christmas last year and have managed to make it last (most likely because I have a few others kicking around in various handbags/on bedside tables).
Scent | Chloé
So small and easy to pack and a very light and pretty fragrance. I’m not keen on anything too heavy or overpowering.
Earrings | Kate Spade New York
Because I'm a bit obsessed with these hoops.
Rose Gold Bangle | Monica Vinader
This recently jumped out of my present drawer and onto my wrist, where it has remained pretty much ever since.
