RADIO BAR ROOFTOPS

A naughty, unplanned Sunday treat saw us whizz up 10 floors to the London rooftops for an afternoon at Radio Bar in the ME Hotel on the Strand, which has set tongues wagging ever since it flung open its doors last year, thanks to its gobsmacking panoramic city views.

In front of a London skyline punctuated by The Gherkin, The Shard, The Walkie-Talkie, Heron Tower, St Paul's and Somerset House, we basked in glorious October sunshine (don't think I've ever been bare-legged on the NINETEENTH OCTOBER before – I swear we actually caught the sun that day). Reclining on big squishy rattan sofas, we nibbled on padron peppers, pork sliders, watermelon gazpacho, markerel pate and ham hock croquettes (you'll be hard pushed to find better ones in London).
